Liberalism Ancient and Modern? Philosophy is not a on-going part of Life: Strauss's Notion

Plato wanted men "'to think'" (Strauss) But Descartes thought otherwise

Leo Strauss is a main figure among the Best Men in American life. But the Best Men have failed us where the great crisis of Western peoples and societies are concerned. Without the leadership of men who are not to be counted among the OpenSociety practitioners of the Enlightenment order, there is no very great hope that Western peoples will endure. There will be a World State.

This means our present passive phase of Enlightenment political order, that is, the order of peoples according to the Enlightenment bases of order which mark the course of men from the rise of Cartesian science, its first realization in the French Revolutionary terror, is on the cusp of entering the active phase. This is what IASPS has described as the Advanced Case of Western Afflictions --essentially the Israeli peace process, or the transfer of actual rulership to Muslims. The peace process in Israel is literally this. And what we see today in Western nations as the convergence of Shari'a and Western Elites is this same process.

The elimination of political and social order refers to the two stages of the OpenSociety prior to its completion in the World State. Multiculturalism is the key to the passive phase whereas Muslim leadership in this same undermining of peoplehood by means of genuine force (the introduction of Shari'a in Western nations) is the active phase. Of course everyone understands the aim of Muslim Da wa and of Jihad is the Caliphate; in effect the Muslim World State. What is not so well understood is the participation in this Muslim effort of the Western Elites.

It is here that we might look for leadership and clarity from the Best Men. But we have only to consider the thinking of Strauss --a very great scholar-- to understand why this leadership will not be forthcoming.
